GNRC Hosts Cashless Mega Health Camp in Goalpara

Goalpara, Assam, December 14, 2024 — GNRC Hospitals, in its ongoing mission to provide Universal Health Care, especially to lower-middle-income families in Assam, organized a mega health checkup camp in Matia, Goalpara. The initiative witnessed an overwhelming response with more than 600 local residents attending the event.

The camp, held on December 14 at the premises of Matia High School, offered comprehensive medical services through consultations with seven specialist doctors in the fields of Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Medicine and Urology. Participants received consultations from specialist doctors, along with complimentary medicines, blood glucose checks, and ECG tests—all provided 100% cashless. The specialist doctors provided thorough checkups and medical advice to more than six hundred patients, many of whom had limited access to healthcare. This initiative was part of GNRC Hospitals’ vision to ensure no one is left behind when it comes to healthcare access. 

The event was graced by MLA of Dudhnai constituency Shri Jadab Swargiary and former MLA Shri Dipak Kumar Rabha. Their presence underscored the community’s collective commitment to improving healthcare access in the region. The health camp was coordinated by Mr Dambarudhar Baishya, Headmaster of Matia High School, who played a crucial role in organizing the event alongside GNRC Hospitals. The success of the camp was further enhanced by the efforts of local GNRC Swasthyamitras, whose active involvement in raising awareness contributed to the large turnout. 

Dr. Nomal Chandra Borah, the visionary founder of GNRC Hospitals, was present at the camp and interacted with the attendees. He shared his personal experiences and reaffirmed his commitment to his mission of universal healthcare for the people of Assam. Addressing the crowd, Dr. Borah said, “Healthcare is a basic human right, not a privilege. We are determined to bring quality medical services to every corner of Assam, ensuring that even those with limited means can access care without financial burden.” He highlighted GNRC’s ongoing efforts to provide cashless treatment options for the people of Assam, aimed at alleviating the economic pressures associated with healthcare costs.

The success of this health camp underscores the urgent need for initiatives that reach the underserved sections of society. Attendees of the health camp expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to receive consultations from top specialists without financial constraints. For many, this was their first opportunity to meet doctors specializing in Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology, and General Medicine, ensuring a holistic approach to health that they might not otherwise have access to.
